NON-INVASIVE BLOOD GLUCOSE MONITOR USING RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY

Dave Wills, Inc. joined the design team on this project in the engineering prototype phase.  Soon afterwards, Dave Wills assumed the roles of Software System Architect and Software Technical Lead for the production prototype phase.  During this design phase, Dave Wills and Dave Wills, Inc. were responsible for the following:

•  A complete review of the necessary software tasks and re-integration into the Micrium OS-III real-time operating system, including a re-structuring of the tasks and re-prioritization of all tasks and interrupt service routines.

•  The implementation of both a hardware watchdog and a software task watchdog to insure full functionality of the device.

Debugging and completion of a custom bluetooth stack to interface the device with a smart phone application, including over-the-air packet sniffing and systems engineering efforts to locate the source of problems on both sides of the RF communications channel.

Investigation of various hardware issues affecting software functionality.

Investigation of power fail issues and hardware changes necessary to preserve system status upon next power up.

Investigation of flash memory issues related to low battery, resulting in a complete re-design of the flash interface to include journaling and the re-design of the power fail software to prevent loss of critical data.
